Extraordinary views of the surrounding mountains

Our farm house

If you're looking for a relaxing and nature-oriented vacation, then a stay at our Großgasteigerhof is just what you need.

The Großgasteigerhof is situated on the sunny side of the idyllic Mühlwald Valley, at an altitude of 1280 meters.

From the terrace and balcony, you can enjoy a dreamlike view of the surrounding mountains as far as the eye can see...

Enjoy the quiet, rural atmosphere, breathe in the fresh air, and experience the diverse landscape. And while listening to the chirping of birds, with a bit of luck, you might also watch the deer grazing at the edge of the forest.

The management of our typical mountain farm is characterized by dairy farming with about 20 dairy cows of the traditional Pinzgauer breed, as well as the rearing of about 15 calves and young cattle from our own stock. Our animals spend the summer on the Passenalm pasture.

With our bread roll service, you can look forward to fresh bread rolls in the morning, which we are happy to deliver to your door. This way, you'll start the day well-fortified and can experience the many activities in our beautiful valley.

Upon request, we are also happy to provide typical herbs and salad from our farmer's garden! Depending on availability, there are also fresh eggs, farmhouse bread, and milk.

The Pinzgauer breed

We are a family-owned business specializing in the breeding and care of Pinzgauer cattle. Our Pinzgauer cattle are our passion. We focus on humane treatment and provide our animals with a healthy and natural environment. In the summer, our cows graze on lush pastures and have a diet consisting solely of natural feed throughout the year. We believe that happy animals are healthier and more long-lived, ultimately reflected in the quality of our products.

We take pride in keeping our Pinzgauer cattle on our farm for up to 15 years, demonstrating the high quality of our animals and our commitment to humane animal husbandry.

Our Pinzgauer cattle have received multiple awards, including recognition for their excellent milk quality.

During the summer, our cows enjoy life on the alpine pasture, where they frolic in the lush meadows and drink pure alpine water. In October, they return from the alpine pasture to our farm, where they spend the cold winter months.

We warmly invite you to visit us on our farm and get to know our animals. We look forward to sharing our passion for the Pinzgauer breed with you.
